Francesco D’Orazio and Giampaolo Nuti in Concert
Francesco D’Orazio – Giampaolo Nuti in concert at Ainslie Arts Centre in celebration of the Festa della Repubblica (anniversary of the formation of the Italian Republic).
A rare opportunity to see two of Italy’s finest musicians in full virtuosic flight.
From this dynamic duo, an invigorating repertoire of romantic and modern classical works for violin and piano. The program commences with Beethoven; here stepping away from his famous depressive moods in the defiant Sonata for violin & piano No. 7 in C minor (“Eroica”), Op. 30/2. Complimenting this passion will be a post-Romantic modern work, the Second Sonata Op. 36a for Violin and Piano (1898) from Ferruccio Busoni, a prodigy whose complex music was incomprehensible to some at his time, but later influenced John Cage and Morton Feldman.
Presented by Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres, the Italian Institute of Culture in Sydney and the Embassy of Italy.
